The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the results of the: Catalyst Grant: HIV/AIDS Vaccine Discovery Research (Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative) competition as part of the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative (HIV Vaccine Initiative"CHVI).
Funding Opportunity Summary
CIHR invited applications from individuals or small teams of Canadian researchers interested in contributing toward the development of an HIV vaccine. Within the framework of the overall objectives of the CIHR Catalyst Grant Program, the specific objectives of the Catalyst Grant: HIV/AIDS Vaccine Discovery Research are to:
1. Enable Canadian basic science and clinical researchers to explore unique/novel ideas and contribute to international efforts in HIV vaccine development;
2. Build capacity for HIV vaccines discovery research in Canada; and
3. Create mechanisms for individual investigators and teams funded under the initiative to network and share information with one another and other relevant international networks and consortia (e.g. other Gates Foundation funded programs, NIH and The Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise).
